TV cannot find synology server
I have a Sony KDL 40ex40B and a NAS Synology DS409slim.
I have activitated DLNA on the NAS but my TV cannot find the server.
Internet works fine on the TV and on my router WAN setup I can see both the NAS and the TV.
Is there a compatibility problem between Synology NAS and Sony Bravia?
Or do I need to do something with the router, e.g an internal firewall blocking?

Strange as I run demo's using a Synology and BRAVIA all the time. Have you tried updating the BRAVIA firmware via USB as a first step? Once this is done, do a full reset of the device and see if that works.
Thanks

Having done that didn't solve the problem.
Any other suggestions will be very appreciated.....

This sounds like network issues somewhere if the TV can't see any devices ( assuming you have another PC with DLNA server software also running) As I mentioned I run Synology both at home and at the office and I simply plug in the device to the network and it appears in a few seconds. Is DLNA/uPnP enabled on the router?

I don't have DLNA software running elseware than on my synology.
uPnP is enabled on the router but I think I will try with a different router.

Having updated the firmware in my router and disabling the firewall settings on the NAS server solved my problem.
Thanks for your help.
