Clear Recent Searches

Hello
Does anyone know how to delete the history of recent searches from your phone? I mean the following picture.

not 100% sure but probably clearing the Xperia Home cache

Upgraded to Marshmallow and now have an addition "Recent Searches" (RS) screen with the Apps screens and no obvious way to empty it or disable it.  Tried clearing the Xperia Home app cache to no effect.  Disabled some apps shown on the RS screen which then cleared them from that screen.  However some apps such as Settings and What's New cannot be disabled and therefore cleared.  Any ideas how to solve this issue?  Who searches for Apps anyway?
