Getting sick of this overheating

(Sony X performance)

Hello, just wanted to give this forum a shot, im running out of ideas and will to fix this problem soon. Ever since i bought my phone for almost a year ago, i quickly started to notice how the phone got very hot after using it a little while. The big problem started when i used the snapchat app, it is enough that i start that app and chatt or open a picture, after 1-2 min the phone is so hot i start to lagg and to say that i can use it perfectly after, would be to lie.

Its not only after using snapchat thoe the problem is worse after snap cuz it make the phone hot and start to lagg after only 1-2 min, it is also when i use the youtube app but i can have that app running for 10-15 min before it starts to take a toll on the phone...

Also i dont find the camera thats good as i expected it to be when i bought this, could be cuz i cant use it so much due to the heat making the camera unable to use due to the "heat protection"..

I had owned Sony since i started to use a phone since i was a kid, i must say that im so dispointed no that im thinking of switching to apple... My phone is barely 1 year, and its already more slow and outright worse than Iphones and Samsung phones thats 2-4 years old.

Any ideas anyone?

@Nickeeee

The app issue will have to be escalated to the app developers, snapchat.

As for the camera are you referring to using the preloaded camera app or a third party app?

The regular camera and not a third party app. But its not only the snapchat app but its the app that does it withing minuts.

@Nickeeee

yeah that's normal, more so if you record videos.

My sisters Xperia X performance has the same issue, can't be repaired under warranty because of a little crack in the corner of screen. My mothers X performance is performing normal and relatively cool all the time.

I'm wondering what exactly is the issue. the battery or the cpu.

Then I'll either replace the battery or go full tryhard with thermal paste on the cpu :l

Before taking the device apart I would suggest to make a backup and do a software repair with Xperia Companion.

After that don't reinstall all apps , just the ones you really need.

See what happens.

hi everybody

i have a xperia x too and have same problems with overheating when i acces the camera function and i make 5 minutes recording and the camera shuy down too cooling, but the service of sony didnt repair or exchange the phone because they said its a normal thing, too overheat and exit from aplication tho cool down.

I'm very disapointed and i dont know what should i doo, but i guess at last time the sony cheats on us with these nasty products and does not even admit it that is a production fault.

You might try to change settings of your camera and set it to 30FPS instead of 60FPS.

The real problem of this device overheating is not resolved but it will give you a longer video time.
