SOS messages

Hi, due to recent events where I live, I have found that some of my friends phones have an SOS message alert that you can use when activated to send a message to your emergency contacts if you find yourself in trouble. I have looked on mine and haven't found one and am wondering if you are thinking of adding such a feature in the near future?

Updates for Xperia X have ended since October 2018.

Ask your friends which app they're using.

Is it native or did they install an app from Playstore.

BTW did you activate ICE (in case of emergency) on your phone?

It is the passive counterpart of the SOS app.

Hi @Tigerlily74, welcome to our forum!

There is no such function in the pre-installed messages application, however it may be available in other messing applications, so I would recommend that you have a look in the Google Play store if there are any available. You can try searching for SOS SMS or similar and see if there are any options available.

As @Strampke mentioned, the Xperia X has not been update for around a year and will most likely not receive any new features. The Xperia X also has the Sony Messages application installed which is not pre-installed in any of our newer devices (we use Google Messages now instead) and as far as I know, is not being further developed.
