Z5 Premium Marshmallow hotspot problem

After I updated to Marshmallow, I can't use my phone as a hotspot. When I click on tethering nothing happens. Tried rebooting and when I clicked on tethering, icon displays but it still is not tethering. Tried rebooting and when I clicked on tethering nothing happened. Should I downgrade back to lollipop? Why are there so many issues with Marshmallow update?

Do you experience the same while on >>> safe mode

Yes I do.

@uliwooly yes I do. The tethering icon displays but it's not visible on WiFi scan. I tried to connect to hidden WiFi network but that didn't work either.

I can't recreate this problem, is your phone network branded? I know some carrier/networks restricted tethering.

@uliwooly my phone is branded Sony. The tethering was working perfectly before updating to Marshmallow. I'll try get the system logs on android studio and see if there's an exception or something.

If all fails, repair the phone with PCC

In my Z5 Prem Dual, I have started getting error when I activate it for the first tim. Error is "...teethering has stopped working" and it closes down. But when I activate it for the second time, it runs without any problem. This has started after updating it to MM.

Tried to do a software repair using PCC. It messed up my phone even worse, the phone can't turn on wifi and the sim card shows as not inserted. That means I can't go through the setup guide which means my phone is pretty much dead now.
