Android 9 volume

Android 9 volume

Just had the new update. Now though, the volume keys only alter the media volume, not the ring/notification volume. Only got the option to put ring into vibrate mode or have to go into the settings. Is there a way to change this as I can't find one?

Hi @Mizwiz, that is a very interesting finding and something that I didn't think about at all.

Thanks a lot for bringing this up! Slightly_smiling_Face

Have a good day.

I forgot to say that once you use the widget, it is necessary to touch "phone ringtone" and then use the volume up or down on the side of the phone to SILENTLY adjust the two sliders for volume, as another poster mentioned.

You can bypass that step and adjust the sliders once you use the widget, but you will "hear" them as you slide left or right.

The solution post is nothing but an explanation of a poor user interface.   Post #34 is where it's at.  It truly is the solution we seek.

Thank you @Quester.  I could not find any button to mark your post as the real solution.

Hi,

I was also frustrated by this so I developed an app to fix it and make it work as it used to. It's free and you can install it from here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.softstackdev.volumeFix

Let me know if you need any help to use it.
