BBC iplayer playback stuttering

I'm trying to watch a film on BBC iPlayer.
It's downloaded as a high quality video.
After 20 minutes the phone has heated up a lot and playback has started stuttering badly.
As in the programme is unwatchable with it halting for 2-3 seconds in every 10-15 seconds.

Known issue?

Thanks for the link, it is properly annoying, hope it gets fixed soon.....
