Customise favourites bar

There's probably an easy solution but I just can't figure out how to customise the favourites bar..... how is it done?

Are you referring to top contacts or to the quick settings?

The bar at the bottom of the screen - 2 apps each side of the apps button.

The small apps

Tap and hold an application icon on the bar and drag it to reorder or remove.

I've just got my Z2 running Android 4.4.4; after being on Android 4.1.2 for 2 years I'm finding quite a difference.
