Erratic Xperia Z1 Camera

I got my Z1 last month and have upgraded to A 4.4.4 I have taken a number of pictures with the camera, but am having difficulty viewing them. Some appear, but many are just broken-picture icons, and on occasions I have had a message that the camera is not available. I can only find a few of my pictures on the Z1, but quite a few (small) pictures associated with an app, and some samples that I assume were supplied by Sony. I've set up DropBox and can see some of the pictures on my PC.  Well, about 15 of the 100 transferred.  The others appear as icons which show 'Invalid Image' if I try to open them.  The file size is consistent with a proper picture, generally around 2 Mb regardless of whether or not they display.  I've attached a screenshot of Photos on the Z1 showing some icons where there should be pictures .  Any ideas?

The replacement SDcard arrived this morning, in SanDisk packaging, but I still wanted to check it out thoroughly. (Came from original eBay supplier, after I'd pointed out he had contracted to send me a genuine 64 GB card). The H2testw showed no errors, and also faster read and write than the fake 8 GB card. So I installed it in the phone, and have been testing the phone out. Better speed was confirmed with A1 SD Bench.

I've successfully taken a number if photos, and played music files.   Only problem has been creating off-line maps withing the MyTrails app, trying to write to the SDcard, but that's a KitKat problem.  So, problem solved, and thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

After looking at your other thread, you might want to try another microSD card, the same as uli said.

It is supposedly a good quality SD card, a SanDisk Micro Ultra SDHC 64GB SD card, but its worth trying a different one.  I'll give it a try.

Well, alexdon, a lot of research and testing (esp using H2testw) showed that I had an 8 GB card masquerading as a 64 GB card - skillfully repainted.  A lot of time wasted, and complaint to supplier!

The eBay supplier claimed:

Hi There seem to be afew issues with the cards my supplier sent. I now have a new supplier and wll send you out a 64gb card tomorrow.

I await delivery, and naturally will test it for capacity before I install it.  Not sure how to check it's the right speed.

There was an app on the play store A1 SD Bench. Not sure how accurate is that though.
