Only recently got my phone and have been looking at the online manual for setting face recognition.
When I activate the camera I can't see the icon quoted to access the face recognition setting nor is there anything in the actual setting menu after I press the gear wheel to open setting.
The icon colour in the online manual is yellow and for an old wrinkly like me a bit difficult to identify.
Any help appreciated
Solved! Go to Solution.
This should be in camera settings then. Make sure to be on manual mode, tap on the settings wheel and tap on more. You will find focus mode and select face detection.
Go to settings - security - smart lock, there you should find it.
Thanks but don't want Face Recognition for security. I have not yet set a pin for screen lock so that isn't available to me.
However that's not what I am referring to but perhaps I used the wrong terminolgy as realise I said "Face Recognition" whereas it should have been "Face Detection" sorry about that.
The Online User Guide quotes as follows:
You can use face detection to bring an off-centre face into focus. The camera automatically detects up to five faces, indicated by white frames. A coloured frame shows which face has been selected for focus. Focus is set to the face closest to the camera. You can also tap one of the frames to select which face should be in focus

Thanks have found the setting.Still getting to grips with the camera which seems to have more options than my old Z2 or am I mistaken??
Well, if you never changed the camera mode on your Z2 from superior auto to manual, it might seem as more options.
