Hi all
I've seen posts on xda-dev (11 dec 2014) about a new z3 compact firmware build (23.0.1.A.5.77).
The last OTA update I had (in england) was 23.0.A.2.105
Sony reports latest firmware to be 23.0.A.2.93 (released 22 sep 2014) lol
Is 23.0.1.A.5.77 region specific (i.e. non-UK)?
Thanks,
Gary

Hi! I've bought Z3 Compact off contract, knowing that branded softwares are usually very delayed. But sadly I'm now noticing my mistake. The newest firmware for Z3c (.77) is present for all branded phones in my country (poland), while i haven't even recieved the .98 update, still .93. I'd just like to ask, maybe Sony has own politics that I'm not aware of, becasue usually unbranded phones get updates first in line.
You can manually flash another country's firmware however to answer your question - Before generic handsets get the update the networks have to all authorise the update, I'm not saying they have to release the update but they do have to authorise it - Then Sony will be authorised to release it to generic devices - So before blaming Sony blame your country's networks as it is those that are not releasing the firmware and not Sony
The update is out for Z3 compact.
Android version: Android 4.4 (KitKat)
Latest available software: 23.0.1.A.5.77
Release started: 2014-12-11
I got the update and it seems good for my phone.
