location using mobile data instead of wifi

Hi,
I have this weared problem in my z2. My location gets turned on automatically & it's costing me mobile data charges even if I'm using Wi-Fi only... Mobile data is turned off. I see this money deduction msg after every few mins .i don't understand this. Plz help me.

Settings-power management,wifi by location must be enabled.

U mean location based Wi-Fi right? Have already done that... I never use mobile data... Only use Wi-Fi

But wifi by location might download some data to be able to work. Do you have it enabled?

GPS shouldn't affect your data plan, are you sending or receiving MMS? because if you are then that's the issue as MMS won't go through WiFi.

I have location based Wi-Fi enabled but if i turn location off, it still works. It detects my wifi n enables it. doesn't charge me for that. But whenever the charge msg appears i see location turned on by itself. N i dont use MMS.

I see some apps like google & location services stating that they have the permission to change my network settings. Is that clousing the problem ? It should still use my wifi right? I dont see any option to turn that permission off

What if you try to disable wifi by location and see how it is?

Is or was your phone locked to a carrier/network branded? perhaps there's an app that its creating this issue

Boot on safe mode and check again
