Message notification problems

My phone keeps telling me I have a message. The message notification keeps popping up. It says message _one new message but nothing is there. I have deleted all my texts but I cannot get rid of it off the screen.

Boot in safe mode:

Are you using a third party app?

It does the same in safe mode. I am not very technical minded what sort of third party app. Wondering if the only way is to do a rese?

Safe mode excludes 3rd party apps by definition. Try settings-apps-all-messages,force stop and clear data.Restart your device.

I suggest that you try disabling the application and then enabling.

Menu > Settings > Apps > All > Messaging Disable

To enable

Menu > Settings >  Apps > All > Disabled > Messaging > Enable.
