Sony PC Companion update issue

Hi,

For the last few months I have been trying to connect my Xperia Z to my laptop to connect to Sony PC Companion, but everytime I do it says that I need to update PC Companion. So I click UPDATE NOW but it just keeps coming up with the error  PC COMPANION UPDATE FAILED. I have tried numerious times but nothing seems to work!?

HELP ME!!!

Hi there,

Re-install PC Companion and try again.

NOTE: Make sure that your Firewall and AV - "real time protection" are disabled during the re-install process!

Follow the suggestion above,if still not working,download sony update service.

I'm having trouble with PC-companion now also after the recent update the companion desktop doesn't load anything other than tablet/phone status. I consistently receive a error message of ordinal 459 could not be located and constantly prompted to download desktop slots. i've uninstalled pc companion numerous times. i've done system reboots on the computer just as many times. after removal and installation of pc-companion...any advice on this please?
