Spotify stops after each song

Hey Everyone!

I recently switched from iPhone to Xperia z5 compact, so I don't know if this is an issue which already affected previous models.

Basically, I usually listen to music using bluetooth headphones. However, this is not always possible and I sometimes need to use devices with a cable.

Now, I've been mainly using apps like Spotify and Deezer to listen to my music and whenever I am on one of these with cable headphones or if I plug a cable to connect my phone to my car speakers, annoying things happen. In fact, in these situations, I can only play one song, after which the music stops and I have unlock the phone, access the app and start the new one from the app itself (it doesn't work from the lock screen or the notification centre). This problem is affecting only third parties apps apparently, or Deezer and Spotify. In fact, if I use the Sony Music app, cable headphones work fine.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this issue, or what it could be? I assume it's a software bug.

@Actinium

I thought you had issues with music files stored on your phone, is this through data or wifi? how fast/slow it is?

Nope... They are not the issue.

Both wifi and data. Speed is not a problem, it's not related to buffering.

The point is that with the same headphones used over bluetooth, or any kind of bluetooth headphones, the problem does not show up. While it's enought o connect a 3.5mm jack cable to find troubles.

@Actinium

That's rather weird, do you have a different pair of headphones to test?

Yes.

I tested it on my MDR-10RBT (cable and BT), on my MDR-AS600BT (BT only), on the earbuds included with the phone and on some Sennheiser my sister owns (cable only). Always the same issue.

@Actinium

you could try to repair the phone with PCC > do NOT install any app nor add your google account > try to see if you encounter the same problem

Okay... repairing solved the problem.

But can I now restore everything via PCC, or do I have to redownload my apps and stuff like I would do on a new phone?

@Actinium

You have to redownload the apps, once you enter your Gmail account it should start downloading the apps.

Incredible. After a long fight, factory reset, 3 swapped phones etc. the touch screen issue was finally fixed yesterday with a new software.

Today I then experience this issue. I used bluetooth audio playback and now switched to wired headphones. And then Spotify only plays one track at the time. Exactly the same problem as originally reported in this thread.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? I really do not like performing another factory reset. I have had the phone since it was launched and finally started to personalise it. A factory reset may solve the issue, but probably only for a short time.

Update: the issue reappeared after the reset and everything.

I'm sorry to hear that.

There was recently an update to Spotify and Deezer in Google Play. Could you please try to update these apps to the latest version and let me know if this still happens?
