Hey Everyone!
I recently switched from iPhone to Xperia z5 compact, so I don't know if this is an issue which already affected previous models.
Basically, I usually listen to music using bluetooth headphones. However, this is not always possible and I sometimes need to use devices with a cable.
Now, I've been mainly using apps like Spotify and Deezer to listen to my music and whenever I am on one of these with cable headphones or if I plug a cable to connect my phone to my car speakers, annoying things happen. In fact, in these situations, I can only play one song, after which the music stops and I have unlock the phone, access the app and start the new one from the app itself (it doesn't work from the lock screen or the notification centre). This problem is affecting only third parties apps apparently, or Deezer and Spotify. In fact, if I use the Sony Music app, cable headphones work fine.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this issue, or what it could be? I assume it's a software bug.

I have a premium subscription to Deezer. I've only recently changed phones and the app still works fine on my old iPhone 5.
But you don't see or hear any add or commercial in the phone when this happens?
We can only replicate this with the free version of Deezer. It will stop playback when it shows a commercial.
I have noticed that when I listen to Spotify everything is fine, until I pause a track to use the phone for something else. I found that when I un paused the track it would play until the end and then stop. At first I thought it was because the track had a large gap then an extra item. A hidden track for example. Just by chance I happened to notice that when I restarted the track, it started from the correct place but the track length and timer had reset to zero. So when the track ended the timer still had in some cases, several minutes before it would continue to the next track.
all I can think is that the many problems people are having are down to a compatibility issue between the phone and the app. So it is possibly better if this matter was mentioned to Spotify for them to look into.
Which headset are you using and would it be possible for you to try another headset?
If there's a bad connection with the headset, Deezer will probably stop when headset is disconnected. If the button is pressed on the headset, Deezer would probably stop as well.
It happens whether I'm using headphones or a jack lead for a car stereo connection or hifi at home.
I searched some other forums about this and found reports indicating that Deezer will stop playback if a bluetooth device is disconnected. If you have bluetooth on, could you try to turn it off and test if Deezer still stops?
