The NFC technology has a maximum range of one centimetre, so the devices need to be close to each other. But it sounds very strange that you need to hold it upside down for connection since it uses radio frequencies. Have you tried to use the NFC function with more than one device?

I apologize that I did not mention that. But I'm glad to hear that it was solved!
Hi,
I need to know if there is an Xperia smartphone or tablet which is NFC-enabled and is compatible with Mifare Classic Tags.
Thank you in advance.
