Xperia Z Ultra sd card loses data

My SD card, 32GB scandisk, doesn't work when transferring music and pdf files from PC via proper procedure. Was told I should reformat the card FAT32 what I did but problem continues. I am seriously fed up. I don't won't to buy a new one since I am pretty certain that the SD card is not faulty since it accepts mp3 and pdf files when downloaded from the Internet but goes on strike when transferring them from my PC. I read somewhere else that others have a the same problem and wrote and email there. I got a response from Stacey Trevillion from the Sony Xperia UK customer team. She told me to reformat as described above, what I did. As I said, problem remains. I had to register here since there was no reply button for the email. Any ideas. Well I can't see how this can be resolved since I have already reformatted. I would be prepared to try a new SD card, though very reluctantly since I don't think that the card is damaged. However, if I would by a new one, which one would I buy to make sure it works?

I have completed a second full successful formatting procedure of the card (took quite a long time) and no damage sectors have been reported. Isn't this evidence that the card is not damaged? I am now again going to transfer my music and pdfs on to the card by using the Sony PC companion 2.1. I am going to use the wireless process to transfer them step by step, meaning folder by folder. I have done this all before but don't want to give up right now. What I expect to happen again is that all files are going to get transferred successfully. That I can open all pdf files, mainly academic articles I like to read on my device while away from Internet access, but that all the sudden some of the pdf files get corrupted and an error message appears saying the Acrobat reader can't open them any longer. What I expect to happen next is that, when I switch my phone off and on again, that most pdf files and most of my music will have disappeared.

As I said before, other people seem to have a similar experience and say that it is not the problem of their SD card but a problem in the Sony device software. I tend to believe that they are correct, especially since no faulty sector of my current Scandisk 32GB card has been reported when reformatting it with FAT32, as adviced by a Sony Xpereria UK customer service worker.  This makes me very reluctent to try a new SD card. However, I would nevertheless be prepared to try new card should the process fail again. I would like to know which card Sony would recommend me to use. Unfortunately, I can't find anywhere an email address of the mentioned Sony Xperia UK customer service and the one I got doesn't allow to respond. So, if anyone answers to this post, please don't just tell me that my card might well be faulty, but give some constructive advice as well, like:

1. Which SD card does Sony recommend to use?

2. How can I contact the Sony Xperia UK customer service?

3. Do you have similar experiences of data loss with your SD card on this device?

Thank you.

  1. I use a sandisk 64GB microSDXC class 10 UHS-3 and before Sony 64GB microSDXC UHS-1 Class 10
  2. http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/contactUs/
  3. I haven't but I know people that had and it was bc of a faulty SD card or bc they used to remove the SD card w/o unmounting it, rather often.

There are fake cards on certain auction websites that lose data, but generally good quality cards only do odd things if incorrectly disconnected from card reader etc in my experience.

Or HTC had problems with card corruption on certain handsets.
