I have discovered that my problem was due to the use of a wifi extender. I reset that device and now I can connect fine on my Z3 and all other devices.
Thanks for the help.
Hmmm, it seems it will connect if I unsecure my network. Is it a problem with the authentication maybe?
Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
That sounds strange. What type of security are you using on it?
Do you have any special or extended characters in the SSID or password?
It seems that if I change to TKIP encryption then it my Z3 will conect. However my other devices are then not able to connect.
If I change it to AES all my other devices can connect but my Z3 wont.
I'm just using the standard WPA/WPA2 security. No strange charactersor or long SSID either.
Do you have an option in your access point for setting WPA2/AES only? If so, could you try setting it to WPA2/AES?
I've set it to WPA2/AES but it still wont connect. I can confirm that if I set it over to TKIP it will connect fine.
me too same issue
wifi connectivity problems on my home network only
I cannot connect to my wifi at work anymore. Have had phone for about a month now and just started having connection issues at my office after returning from Xmas break. I have tried everything I have read on here. Restarted phone and router, turned off stamina, bluetooth, wifi optimization, restarting etc. Nothing. All other users here can connect and my previous phone connects fine. I have started my phone in safe mode and it will connect. Once I restart my phone to take out of safe mode it will no longer connect. It works fine on my wifi at home. This makes no sense. Any suggestions? Connection at work is Secured with WPA2 PSK. No special characters for password, just letters and a numbers.
Sorry to hear that you're having issues with WiFi.
If it works in safe mode this indicates that the issue is caused by a downloaded app. Safe mode starts the phone without loading any 3:rd party apps. Did you download any new apps during your break? Have you installed any apps for managing connections, WiFi or similar?
