Hi there

The remote control model that you have should be RMF-TX200E - which I have for my TV (KD-55XD8577).  There is a 'microphone' button right in the middle of the top row between the AV Inputs and Power buttons.

The manual may also help:

Also, see the following recent thread

I have this telly and the picture of the remote you've posted is different from mine,

Mine also hasn't got  microphone,.

I have to use my phone to use microphone, do I need to upgrade my remote?

And that is the one that Sony specify with this set:-

Does your remote look like the one in this manual for your TV?

http://download.sony-europe.com/pub/manuals/eu/4584995111.pdf

The manual is entirely devoid of the word 'voice', but Sony do say that all these TVs support voice.

However, on all but the most premium sets, you may need an additional, or different, remote to get this function.

i needed this one as an extra for my Sony Android UHD 43-whatever-it-is:-

and that is what Sony specify for voice on my set.

Though Quinnicus' remote looks a better option for you, if you can find where to buy one; I can't, alas.

hi duramlad, yes it's the remote that was on the thread but not when you go into voice recognition it shows remote with microphone icon on top and instructions say press icon and lower volume at same time tv seems fine have only had since Saturday and it's brand new so you would think Sony would put in correct remote with tv

Hi there

I have been doing some digging and I have come up with the following - of which I will take up with Sony on your's and everyones behalf.

These are the two remotes in question:

RemoteXD70-02.jpg

Sony seems to have deliberately designed two different remote controls with VERY similar model numbers RMF-TX200E and RMT-TX200E.  It is unclear to me why they would choose to do such a thing.

Even though Voice search is an advertised feature - on its product webpage : HERE - there is a little '8' clause:

RemoteXD70-01.jpg

As it stands the RMT-TX200E does not have a microphone for Voice Search functions and that you would need another compatible remote to do so.

However as I mentioned above, I will pass this onto Sony and attempt to find out why they have done this.  I will then post back and answer.

Cheers
