If you got the app from the official Google Play store then it shouldn't be malware, Google removes malware asap. It could be an app showing ads regarding a virus on your phone-if so then remove any unknown apps via Settings>Apps. If it is an actual virus (which I doubt) then install an antivirus scanner such as Avast-which is the best for android. Carry out a scan and remove the malicious app-if any.

There might have been an app with ads,they tend to trick the user with some super shiny writing where it says you have virus or your phone is slow.

Hi, i also had a problem same as your's. the malware/adware appears after I unlock my phone of after my lock screen (while i'm connected to WIFI or my mobile data was turned on). I just downloaded Malwarebytes from Google Play Store then run a full scan on my Xperia Z2 then, the Malware has been detected then i just un-installed it. hope to help you with this.
