Jelly Bean 4.3 Crashes My Sony Xperia SP

I have updated my Sony Xperia SP to Android #4.3 a couple of months back since then my phone system is crashing like anything. Touch response is poor, Apps crash almost all the time I try. I had taken this issue to my nearest sony service centre and they say is that this is happening with every customer of them they see day in and day out. They were also adding that they have mad sony aware of this and hoping that Sony should come out with a firmware update soon. From the Forums that I have gone through so far regarding this it is clear to me that until Sony comes up with a system update to fix this nothing like rebooting without SIM card & memory card or factory resetting the phone is really going to help. All I am asking here is that if Sony is planning on releasing system update anytime soon? If so, when we could expect that to happen?

Every XSP is an Original. Some people report no bugs, some can not use their phone without going mad with it. When You downgrade back to 4.1.2, like me, you will get your superphone back.

Well, Sony surprisingly gave a system update on my Xperia SP today with Buid # 12.1.A.1.201, The update was for 9.4MB. The description was "get the the best out of Your Xperia SP with the new system update". It did not say anything with regard to bug fixes or Fix with App crash and overall system. Have updated it!! No significant changes seen so far. I should wait a couple of days to see how it is. Will keep you all posted.

Hi

Can you please tell me at which version you downgraded?

12.0.A.2.254

I guess you prefer power button black display and wifi errors than 4.3 Slightly_smiling_Face

It is the .254 version. Wifi does not bother me, I have a good reception in my house. I use mobile internet , when I am outside and to be honest, I use arround 200 mb outside per month. Power button black display.. what is it?

4.3 is nice looking, but my XSP has got a minilag every second, that is very very annoying and unacceptable. both .266 and .201

No issues have been resolved with the recent update. It's all the same as crappy as before.

I will say that we have more issues than the issues we have in the past... They sould release a new update for this phone to fix all the issues once for all... I'm not begging for a kit kat and begging for a update that fix all issues once for all... a decent jelly bean no issues, we paid as customer for a good phone and you are giving us a bad software on our phones

I had bought this Phone under the impression that Sony would give KitKat update. But, After surfing through few forums, news and Sony's official website which says (http://www.sonymobile.com/in/software/phones/xperia-sp/) "Under Investigation"

for Android 4.4 (KitKat) I am sure that there is no further update to Sony Xperia SP from what it current;y it has now # 4.3 Build # 12.1.A.1.201. So, I had decided to resolve the issue (apps crashing and so does the OS) by two ways per Sony authorised service centre personnel.

1. Factory reset the Phone and re-install all apps. If this doesn't help

Then,

2. Re-install the OS (not by myself this time) by taking it to the Authorised Sony service Centre.

Tried and got through with Option 1 and my phone works like a charm now.

Good luck to everyone!
