Is there any news about the problem with no signal after update to Android Oreo?

My Phone (xperia X compact) read sim card but it can't connect to network (mobile data, calls and SMS don't work).

 WiFi works OK.

Is there any solution to this.

I have a sony x as well and after the latest upgrade, my sim has no service at all. But it works in other devices.

I am having the same issue. Is there a solution to this problem? Could you post the answer here?

Hi @lisa_a24, sorry to hear that you are experiencing the same behaviour. Slightly_frowning_Face

I recommended that @leonardo36 tried with a different SIM card in the device, and if it was still not working, the next step is to perform a software repair using Xperia Companion.

The repair will delete all data from the internal storage though, so it's important to create a backup using Xperia Companion before starting with the repair.

Let me know how it goes for you!

Hi @lisa_a24 and @Jonas,

I had to take my phone to the sony repair centre closer to me. Seems like it had a mainboard issue and they had to replace it. Lucky I was still under guarantee.

Seems like it cannot be fixed manually but only at the centre.

Thanks for the advice Jonas

@hi @Jonas,

it seems that the hardware failure was casual, since so many users have the same problem. I have posted this before. I have already tried with software repair, factory reset, Sony Flashtool, etc. nothing works.

Are you sure that it´s not a firmware issue for this specific model? is there any official statement that Sony could release regarding this issue?

Unfortunately I have bought the mobile in Amazon Germany, while I was working there, but I live in Argentina, and Sony XperiaCare doesn´t want to check my unit for that reason (it seems not to be a global company like Apple, isn´t it?)

Kind regards

I had the same Issue: No RF Signal - no software solution helped  so I decided to check the hardware. The SIM Card Reader was fine but on the mainboard in the vicinity of the antenna connectors I found a destroyed tiny BGA chip. I cannot say what it is but it looks like an RF switch due to the surroundings.

Any Idea what it is and why it broke?

I am sure that I did not break it mechanically during the dissasembly.  The missing parts are not there so I cannot decipher the labeling.

Possibly an electrostatic discharge on the antenna killed it??

Looks like a Qualcom QFE2550 Antenna tuner

I wonder if replacing it can fix the issue...?

Did you find the solution? Could you downgrade your phone?
