Hi all,
I have the same problem as a few of you above. The microphone doesn't work in call, although i can hear the other person fine. Then i press the speaker Button which makes the other person hear me, but makes them sounds like they are quite far away from their Phone.
Booting in safe mode made no difference, neither did the diagnostics find anything faulty.
Not being able to speak with anyone almost renders the phone useless. If there is a fix please share here.
Hi everyone, I'm having the same problem here as well. I can hear people, sound is a bit low but fine, they can't hear me well, according to them it's like I'm covering the mic with my hand or speaking under water...
I've only bought the phone 2 days ago, only yesterday stating making calls to find this problem, as an old Android use I've tried everything possible, apps, settings, after the new update which my phone downloaded as soon as I switched it on, the noise reduction feature is removed and instead you can now only control the sensetivity of the mic which can't work for all situations and the auto mode isn't the best.
When I tried to use another phone to call mine, today, the person speaking voice's was low, the background noise is not hearable at all so as the voice of the speaker is lowered as well. Ran diagnostics and all is working fine, surprisingly when I tried recording my calls to test, when I play them back the sound is okay (not amazing) but when the other person recorded the call my voice was unclear, muted and it's like I'm humming when I'm not raising my voice...the more the noise the more my sound is lowered and unrecognizable.
To me, it seems like a software issue, I'm handing in my phone tomorrow to the shop I bought from so he can send it to check if there is a hardware failure.
I switched from LG G4 because it was huge and over heating to a phone I can use with one hand and fits perfectly in any pocket but I'm starting to regret this decision.
Please fix this issue or at least send a reply or something because this is really annoying.
This is sad to read. Many years ago I owned an Xperia Mini Pro which had a known problem with the earpiece. Rather than risk swapping it for another one, I returned it and got an Xperia Mini instead. This phone used to get quite hot when used with Google Navigation, then one day while using Google Navigation, it lost connection to the mobile network and never regained it.
I got it repaired under warranty, but in the meantime bought an Xperia Ray. This was the only Xperia device (along with the X8) that never caused me any problems. So I had a 50% success rate with Xperia phones.
After moving to some very reliable Motorola phones, I was considering coming back to the Sony fold with the beautifully proportioned X Compact. Now I have read this thread and am thinking "maybe not".
No sound when receiving a phone call I need to use the speaker to hear my caller.
I already reset without improvement.
Do you have any suggestions?
Same mine too. Till now it's not fix. I'm facing same issue.
I have had exactly the same problem with both xa2 phones I have had. I can hear the other person clear as a bell but they cannot hear me. Come on Sony, why is this such a persistent problem? Surely you should have taken steps to deal with this by now? This is the first Sony phone I have bought and looks likely to bethe last if these issues aren't sorted
People say they can't hear me when I make or 're ieve
How do you check the status of the michrophone
Same issue here: low or no sound at all from mic during calls. I have to shout near the mic during conversations. When tested in diagnostic the mic seems fine, and also audio on video recordings is fine. Looks like a noise cancelling software issue during conversations only. C'mon Sony you can make something better i guess...
