There are a few different settings which you may explore. First things first, do you want a notification sound but not the vibration, or do you want it to be completely silent?
If you still want a notification signal but not a vibration for incoming calls, go to Settings > Sound > Deactivate "Also vibrate for calls". Then, in order to turn it off for messages, open the Messaging app > Menu (3 dots in the top right) > Settings > Notification vibration. You may have to look in the notification settings for all the apps which you wish to turn off the vibrations for, as there is no general setting to turn of all the vibrations while the notification sound is on.
If you don't wish to get any notification sounds or vibrations, simply lower the volume using the hardware volume down button on the right side until it reaches vibration mode > release the volume down button and tap it once more - it's not in silent mode.
