Xperia SP WIFI range ISSUE

Hi, i have just bought Sp 2 days back

I am facing wifi range problem the device does not catch the range where my other phone catches the range at good wifi signal strength.

the distance is like 3 to 5 meters less then my black berry

Is there any settings that i need to see for the wifi range.

I also having issue with the wifi signal dropping off here in Singapore, compare it with other units such as ASUS laptop, Samsung Tab and Iphone 3GS were all full in signal but the SP was always dropping off and weak in signal.

Went to service center  and they can not do anything about it, they said just email sony for this matter.

I want to return and refund!

Better to use china phone instead lol.

Hi I have a problem. After restoring my phone all song and photos that was uploaded by Sony disappeared. I thought that all this stuff is in original soft. I don't know why Sony made this mistake.

Do you have the same problem?

Could you help me and upload this photos and songs on this forum? I am sure that there also more people with this same issue.

Can anyone tell me where song and images are originally stored in Xperia SP? Please write name of the folders.

For the follow up...

Replaced the unit with a new SP, but still having wifi dropped off.

Tested also Xperia S, also have the same issue!

Not recommended to buy!

Have issues with wifi connectivity!

I bought 2 Xperia SP a few weeks ago too. One black and one white SP, for myself and my wife. The black SP is working fine. The white SP has a poor wifi range. Was advised to bring it to the service centre. After more than a week, was given a replacement. Brought it back and then realised the new set has the same issue.

While the black SP can detect a long list of wifi networks, the white SP can only detect a few even though they are placed side by side. Another thing we noticed is the LCD display of the black SP set looks nicer as compared to the white SP which looks warmer and on the yellowish side.

Now stuck with the phone for at least the next 21 month due to the contract requirements

Me and my collegue compare the wifi signal between SP and S, also both having same issue.

Then this afternoon the Sony Call Center from Singapore called me and acknowledged the complain that i raised to them.Then adviced me to to do some things in the router, and changing to other unit 1-1 replacement which i already did, but still having same issues.They will going to call me back tom for any updates, two thumbs up for the after market support but still really disappointed with the unit.

I've been having the exact same problem. Also, i've contacted Sony just now and i will share the results once i get an answer. Meanwhile i'll eagerly wait!

Sony Call Center called me twice;

1st they offer me to replace from Xperia SP to Xperia V!,, STUPID! they offer for downgrade!

2nd they called me back again and they offer to replace it by Xperia Z but i need to top up for SGD200, good deal but i prefer to REFUND!

Unhappy with the performane of XPERIA!

Do they allow for refund? I need the wifi and if really no choice, may have to consider replacing with Xperia V if the specs are not that different. They cost the same when I purchased the Xperia SP in May. Went for SP as the salesman was saying it was a later model so I assumed it would be better

Hi valkyrie, as of now they have not offer me refund, im still waiting for that.

They only offer to replace me with Xperia Z and top up for SGD200
