My Sony Xperia Z1 was Entered by water!

Hey guys, I'm always a Sony Fans.

Recently, I've purchased a Sony Xperia Z1 for over 2 months. At first, I tested my phone underwater that my speaker's volume turns low although it's the largest I've tune. And the volume recover back after few hours (as I think that the holes of the phone was entered by water).

But the problem turns into more serious, my phone volume just remain low for more than a week after I'm having underwater shooting. And until yesterday, the problem even worse, my phone was entered by water!

My phone was suddenly dropped into a pail of water and after I get it out of that pail, the phone's front camera and back camera was full of steam! OMG, I can't believe my eye!

My first action is to telephone the local Sony Xperia Hotline but it's out from office hours, so I can't leave the voice message or any history for them to prefer me back. So I used to email to questions.my@support.sonymobile.com.

But today (21st Jan 2014), I received the replied email from Sony that the problem is not under warranty! OMG! I've checked the previous record of forum that all them are claimed for warranty successfully and one of them get 1 to 1 exchange by Sony! the content of email are as below:-

Replied Email from Sony

I'm really angry with the service performance, so I called the customer service once again today but the customer service direct me to another department (Electrical Appliances department if not wrong). I've confirmed with them that the case will be identified after sending of phone to service centre.

Well, Sony Service Centre will produce report after they've done checking. But I'm scared that they will not entertain my case. And also, how if they make the report which is not benefit to me? Anyone can guarantee? because I've lost confidence with Sony after all this happened on me!

Thanks.

It wasn't submerged on purpose - just fell into a puddle.

I'll get onto the support link suggested

this literally just happened to me 2 days ago my boyfriend and i went to sixlags and he brought the phone with him on a couple tube rides but the most you spend on a ride its about 2-10min at the very max but we constantly had checked the phone after every slide we went on becuase we were keeping track of the ride and after we got off the last one we checked the time then walked back to our chairs sure enough we get to them and sit then we wanted to start packing up so i asked for the time and the phone would not turn on so we tried to charge it and that didnt work the phone was over heating and vibrating so we brought it in to t-mobile and we couldnt even reseive the same phone again even though we pay for the insurance on it and as a manager you have to constantly have a phone so we have to wait till tuesday july 22 2014 to hopefully get the phone and send in the phone we have now back which has photos of our recently passed away dog and we cant even conect to a computer to get those photos back thnks sony in total we have spent

Any discussion on Facebook goes very bad, I was blocked in Sony Mobile AU, and on global page Sony Mobile my comments was deleted. Acting this way you are cheating your clients. I am looking for other cheated clientsfor the class action lawsuit against SONY, and I will find them. I've already gave a feedback to Catalonian Organization of Consumer Protection and to the European Consumer Center. People on Xperia Care in Madrid are rude and one guy has screamed on me after saying that I will look for a lawyer. What are you doing? Are you crazy? Where is the legendary SONY quality from 15 years ago? I am very, very disappointed and I will not be treated like a fool. All flaps was tightly closed, water in a swimming pool, clear, depth about 30 cm for 5 minuts (that's a max time to spend for three selfies). Maybe you should try to produce nails or shoe heels in this situation.

Yep. a bowl of rice won't be getting you anywhere. the only answer is replacement. and you better mention that little white sticker (unless it's red) next to the SIM card under the flap, or they'll assume it's your fault and charge you big to replace it. I know because I had to do it twice. yes 2, count em, 2 Xperia Z1S's with water under the cameras and inside the display making them either crackle in color or flicker and dim to black. Funny you should say this problem was with the Z1, as I thought this was only a problem the the Z1S with it modded plasted frame instead of alunimium , and the gasket failure caused by flexing, but apparently not. I suppose there just werewn't the propper stress tests to receive its I.P. ratings at all and any reviews that briefly mention, that is even IF they submerge it in water are lucky that the device continues to work. and Sony has the gaul to have a picture of it submerged in water on the webpage for the device, and drenched in water on the cover of the box! This really is an outrage after the stress and expense I endured and there should be some consequence besides ones solely on my end.
