After Lollipo-update, my Z3C have had problems with battery charging..
1) Phone is heating while on charging dock
2) The phone stops to charge the battery when about 85% is charged. Orange led starts to blink.. and the power management is stopped too: it freezes when charging stops and battery usage meter stops to update.
I have rebooted the phone several times with no improvement fot this problem.. WHATS WRONG ?

Hello all
I'm experiencing exactly the same problem with my new Z3 Compact.
I always put the charger on overnight and noticed that in the morning the LED was flashing and the battery charge indicator was going on and off all the time, with the level up to around 80%.
I thought it might have been the wire so the following night used a different one but the same thing happened.
I also used the charging dock which has the same issue.
I've gone through the steps in this topic and have updated the software via the PC Companion and last night it was just the same. Got to 85% then the LED started flashing and the charge continually stopping and starting.
Anyone got any more suggestions for a frustrated owner?
I'm having a similar problem, but mine is capping out at 60% (I bought the phone two days ago and am just using it today after getting a new sim card).
I might have got it to work and keep charging, by turning the unit off and charging it, the LED comes back on and the animation on the screen indicates it's now drawing charge again.
I will keep you posted as to whether or not this works and I get it to full charge.
Thanks, not an ideal solution but I'd be interested to hear how it goes.
I use the alarm function in the morning so might have to work around that if it is switched off.
Unfortunately the problem is getting worse for me. Last night during charging, the connection kept coming and going and every time that happened, the notification noise was going on and off which kept me awake so I had to just disconnect the charger.
My question is - this mustn't be a problem which affects all handsets as there's not a great deal of information online, so where would I stand if I needed a replacement? Is this covered as part of the manufacturer's warranty?
Many thanks.
Final update from me...
I took the handset back to the retailer and exchanged it for another one, the exact same model, and the problem is not present on the exchanged one.
I was able to demonstrate the fault on my handset to the staff in the store and they agreed to exchange it after going through the usual factory resets etc without any success.
So if anyone else is still having the same problem I'd recommend doing the same as it looks like only a small number of handsets are affected by this.
