Using the back button in Chrome skips bookmarks page

Yesterday I was browsing using my bookmarks - but today I find my 'back button' now skips my bookmarks page & instead takes me to the page previously visited.
My Chrome browser started doing this a few weeks ago, so I installed Chrome Beta - this has now started this strange behaviour.
No idea what's changed - please help...

I see the same behavior on my Z5 premium and other Xperias, since Chrome its not a Sony app, you might want to check with Chrome developers/Google

you could try this, settings > apps > all > chrome > uninstall updates > clear data

This strange behaviour is on my Z5 premium - just tried my Z2 Tablet (Chrome also just updated) & it navigates to my bookmarks page....

Anytime, don't forget to send your feedback to the chrome developers

After chrome regularly refused to load certain webpages (stopping/starting the app always cured it....) I reluctantly updated & sure enough the 'bookmarks bug' returned - I did report this to Google.

I was hoping that Marshmallow would cure it - but no....

The 'workaround' I use is setting my homepage to Google search - which has a 'bookmarks shorcut' on the page - it returns to this & it is only one extra press to return to my bookmarks....
