I see the same behavior on my Z5 premium and other Xperias, since Chrome its not a Sony app, you might want to check with Chrome developers/Google
you could try this, settings > apps > all > chrome > uninstall updates > clear data

After chrome regularly refused to load certain webpages (stopping/starting the app always cured it....) I reluctantly updated & sure enough the 'bookmarks bug' returned - I did report this to Google.
I was hoping that Marshmallow would cure it - but no....
The 'workaround' I use is setting my homepage to Google search - which has a 'bookmarks shorcut' on the page - it returns to this & it is only one extra press to return to my bookmarks....
